Ready, Set, Read!
Let your baby take the lead when you read. Your baby may only sit still for a page or two, turn pages too quickly, or only want to look at one picture and then be done. It is perfectly normal for baby to want to “taste” a book. Follow your baby’s lead to make reading time a positive experience. Make books a part of your daily routine and read before naptime and/or bedtime. Put a book in your diaper bag to read to baby while out and about. This will nurture their love of books and reading from the beginning.
Our guest reader for this story is 4.5 years old, and we are very proud of him! He knows that it is okay to make some mistakes because that's how you learn!

Pre-Reading Building Block
This book introduces colors and clothing to children in a humorous way. Using a hat, place it on your head, saying, "Hat on!" Take the hat off, saying, "Hat off!" Repeat this while putting the hat on your child's head.
Let's Play
After reading the book, reinforce clothing vocabulary and the book's humor through simple movement. Name one item of clothing from the book at a time and act it out: "Hat on head!" (touch head), "Shoes on feet!" (tap feet), "Pants on legs!" (pat legs). Add silliness by putting an imagingary (or real!) hat on your foot and saying, "Oops! Silly hat!" Repeat with other items of clothing. End with saying, "We did it! All dressed!"
